There are some travel accounts that you just being aware will remain with you for a lifelong. My trip on the Rocky Mountaineer, generally calculated one of the world's biggest train travel experiences, was actually that. I took the First Passage to the West trip, and was stunned to realize a part of my own country that I had never before noticed. The train left early each morning, and only goes during daylight hours so you can invest your whole day looking at beautiful scenery. Unless, certainly, you are enjoying yummy dishes in the dining room downstairs, standing in the outdoor hall with the wind beating all around you, or sharing a cocktail with your fellow travelers. I spent much of the two days just looking through the glass vaulted car, from time to time with my mouth wide open, amazed.
